Mangaluru Aug 29: Farooq, father of youngster Fazil who was brutally hacked to death in Surathkal, alleged that more arrests need to be done in his son's murder case.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, August 29, Farooq said, 'The police officials are good but their hands have been tied by the unseen powers in this case.

"There is political involvement behind it," he added.

"The probe has been diverted because of political elements. Police arrested the accused based on CCTV footage. Apart from that, no probe has been conducted. The conspirator has not been arrested yet. Police claimed a person from Pallamajalu is the conspirator who was arrested. However, they did not reveal the motive behind the murder and the relation between Fazil and the conspirator," Farooq said.

The Muslim Ikyatha Vedike legal advisor Umar Farooq said, "If the district administration permits, we will submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 2 about the biased approach of the state government to the communal murders in the district."

"State government has awarded compensation to deceased Praveen Kumar Nettaru's kin but denied compensation to Fazil and Masood, They did not even visit their residence after giving an assurance. The Praveen murder case was handed over to NIA and case filed under UAPA act, but it was denied in Masood and Fazil murder cases. So we have to meet the prime minister and the district administration should permit us to do so on September 2 when Modi is visiting the city.

Our country has changed a lot since 2014, people are seeing each other by hate because of their religion and practices. This isn't the India which we teach childrens in school. I guess like the national anthem, the preamble should be made to say in schools and public places

Yes, if compare to other murders it is biased and they are protecting murderers. Why don t they handover to NIA and why they dont compensate etc. etc. It clearly shows communal.
