Kasargod: Heavy rains - Madhoor temple inundated, houses damaged

Kasargod, Aug 31: The rain that lashed on the early morning of Tuesday at various places of Munnadu, Muliyaru and Bedadka villages damaged houses with floods and landslides.

The water from the Madhuvahini river flowing in front of Madhoor Sri Madanantheshwara Siddi Vinayaka temple entered the front yard of the temple.

The low lying areas of Bedagam Oliyathadka got inundated as the hill collapsed. The inmates of two houses were shifted as the water inundated their houses. Water also entered the house of KSRTC bus driver Chandran residing at Kanathur.

A hillock collapsed on two houses at Kanathur and damaged the houses completely.

Lalitha’s house at Mucchirakulam also got inundated and all household items were damaged.

Water gushed into the house of Abdulla, a resident of Nekraje Chennadka. Six people inside the house were rescued by the fire service personnel. A tree fell across the Badiadka-Karimbila road and traffic was affected.
