Udupi, Aug 31: Savarkar's photo was placed in Ganeshotsava pendal here in Kadiyali as per a call given by the Hindu outfits. Kadiyali Mahisha Mardhini temple Ganeshotsava pendal is one of the first Ganeshotsava pendals in Udupi. It is celebrating 56th Ganeshotsava this year.
On the occasion of Ganeshotsava, Savarkar and Bal Gangadhar Tilak photos were placed on both sides of the pendal stage. People offered floral tributes to Savarkar picture. Books on life of Savarkar were also placed for sale in the pendal premise.
Children were given books on the life of Savarakar as prizes.
"The purpose of Ganeshotsava celebration is protection of Hinduism. Savarkar's mission was also to protect the same. This is the reason for celebrating Savarkar Ganeshotsava. This is an answer to the false propaganda against Savarkar," said the organizers.
