Mangaluru, Sep 1: Members of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) have stated that the BJP workers were not critical about Nalin Kumar Kateel or his style of functioning as he has been successfully running the state unit of the party as its president by devising development schemes and building the party besides serving as member of parliament.

Speaking to news persons on here, DISHA member V Krishnappa Poojary said BJP workers are not criticising Kateel's functioning or critical about his work but there are posts put up on the social media that are targeting him through contemptuous remarks. He said the committee is considering taking action against persons who have put up such posts adding that the opposition parties are also party to it.

Poojary said Kateel has been successful in getting grants for the district as the member of parliament. He said Kateel had helped people during the Covid-19 outbreak. Kateel had contributed in setting up Coast Guard training centre, plastic park, Mangaluru smart city project, ideal village development and the Amrit scheme besides developing highways such as Mani-Mysuru, Kulshekar- Belvai, B C Road-Charmadi, B C Road- Addahole as a member of parliament.

Poojary said Kateel had undertaken a tour across the state and had undertaken systematic work at the boot level. Against the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Mangaluru, Kateel is likely to identify the beneficiaries of various central schemes and talk about them. He said the meet will emerge successful with the cooperation of all.
