Mumbai: Chinnara Bimba Organizes Convention of Litterateurs, Folk Artistes in Metro

Mumbai, Apr 17: Chinnara Bimba, children’s drama troupe of Kala Jagattu, internationally-acclaimed organization promoting Kannada and Tulu culture worldwide organized a convention of litterateurs and artistes, at Pejavar mutt auditorium, Prabhat Nagar, Santacruz (East) here on Saturday April 16 evening.

Karnataka Sangh president Dr G D Joshi inaugurated the convention. Swami Vishveshateerta of Pejavar mutt delivered religious discourse.

Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharastra president Chandrashekar Palettady, veteran litterateurs B S Kurkal and Dr Sunitha M Shetty, well known poet Kodu Bhoja Shetty and Professor Sitaram R Shetty were the chief guests.



Chinnara Bimba founder trustee Prakash B Bhandary in his introductory address said that the convention was organized in order to provide a stage for the renowned litterateurs and artistes in order to share their wealth of knowledge on Kannada and Tulu culture to the children who aspire to take up the legacy.

Chinnara Bimba trustee Surendrakumar Hegde said that the convention is organized to encourage children in order to explore their talent in folk art for posterity.

Chinnara Bimba trustee Renuka P Bhandary, renowned litterateur Ravi Ra Anchan, Poornima Shetty, Vani Ucchilkar, G T Acharya, Shimunje Parari, Tonse Sanjeev Poojary, Ravi Mendon Kurkal, Vivek Shanbagh, Sanat Kumar Jain, Ramesh Rai, Arala Anand Shetty, Gangadar Paniyoor, Srinivas Jokatte, Ramesh Birti and Laxminarayan Harekala among others were present.

A documentary of Chinnara Bimba’s last year’s programmes too was screened.

The convention began with the prayers by Chinnara Bimba children’s troupe. Satish Salian compered the programme.
