Mangaluru, Sep 4: In an accident that occurred on NH 66 at Kallapu, a man died as he came under the wheels of a truck while crossing the road in the morning of September 3.
Niyaz Bava (51), resident of Bengre, who is employed at Global Market of Kallapu is the deceased.
Niyaz resided in the apartment complex near Kallapu Naganakatte and worked in K M Vegetables shop of Kallapu Global market for many years. As usual, he was crossing the road to attend duty when a speeding cargo truck that was approaching from the Kerala side ran over him. He died on the spot.
After the accident, the truck stopped as its axle broke. Niyaz is survived by wife and three children. Mangaluru south traffic police have registered case against the driver.
