Puttur: Bike crashes against electricity pole, hits bus – Pillion dies, rider serious

Puttur, Sep 5: In an accident that occurred on September 3 night near Parladka on Mani-Mysuru national highway, a pillion died and rider got seriously injured when their bike crashed onto an electricity pole and then hit a moving bus from behind.

The deceased is identified as Bharathraj Gowda (22), son of Chandrashekhar Gowda, resident of Veeramangala Kandiga. His friend Dhanush (24), who was riding the bike is seriously injured.

Both were proceeding to watch the Ganeshotsava procession at Puttur. As they approached Parladka, Dhanush lost control over the bike and crashed onto the electricity pole on the side of the road and hit the back of the bus that was going to Mangaluru.

Bharatraj received severe injuries on his head and died on the way to hospital at Mangaluru. Dhanush is admitted to hospital at Puttur.

Bharatraj is the only son of daily wage labourer Chandrashekhar and completed his ITI education.

Additional SP Kumarchandra, who was passing by the same spot where the accident took place, helped to take the both injured to hospital in Puttur in his car.
