Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Sep 6: In a bizarre incident that is reported from the city on Monday, September 5, a man took a handbag containing 130 grams of gold from the hands of the woman itself by reportedly hypnotising her.

A stranger entered the house of a woman living on TT Road behind Jain temple under the limits of city north police station at around 9.15 am and asked change for Rs 2,000 currency note. Later, he asked the woman where she keeps the gold. The woman showed the cupboard where she had kept the gold.

The stranger asked the woman to give the bag to him and he will return after seeing the things inside it. As soon as the woman gave the handbag, he left her house hurriedly. The woman came to senses after five to six minutes and informed the matter to her husband.

The bag contained 130 gram gold including a Mangalasutra, a big finger ring and five small finger rings. The stranger wore face mask, white shirt and black trousers as per the complaint filed with the police by the victim woman.

The woman told the police that the stranger spoke to her in a manner of hypnotizing and cheated her.

City north police are investigating further.

Covert hypnosis is an attempt to communicate with another person's unconscious mind without informing the subject that they will be hypnotized. It is also known as conversational hypnosis or sleight of mouth. This the technique used by salesmen, which switches of the victims critical thinking process for a while akin to transient global amnesia!! BTW, no person will entertain a complete stranger, asking for change, in the first place???

It could be an episode of transient global amnesia, a person is unable to create new memory, so the memory of recent events disappears. You can't remember where you are or how you got there. You may not remember anything about what's happening right now.

Where is this TT road in Mangaluru? If husband was there, how he allowed a stranger? Ladies, dont wear gold....be like "nirabharana sundaris"...Think your beauty lies in your heart.....enough. If someone likes you for your simplicity welcome them..if they want your beauty rather than simplicity or goodness....show them the way through which they came....tata bye bye...then say get ..........!!! ..

This can happen... I have seen many people getting cheated by Africans in streets of Dubai... Best is not to entertain strangers when you are all alone either on raods or at homes... Next thing one can do is to avoid eye contact.. Quick hypnotism needs certain duration of eye contact ... Never look at the person;s eyes...
