Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 6: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, September 6, reported 19 new coronavirus cases while three cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,796, out of which 95 are currently active. As many as 20 patients were discharged on September 6.

Zero deaths were reported on September 6. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,859.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.65% percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Three coronavirus cases were reported on September 6. The total active Covid cases are 54.

A total of 10,90,482 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,213 have received both doses and 2,50,884 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported two cases, while Kundapur added zero cases and Karkala registered one case.
