Kundapur: Identity of decomposed body found in river six months ago established

Kundapur, Sep 7: The identity of a decomposed body which was found floating at Hadali in Varahi river about six months ago has been finally established. The body is said to be of Vinay Poojary (30), resident of Neramballi Choukudibettu, Hangaluru. He was reported to be missing from March 28. A case in this connection was registered at Shankernarayana police station. The incident has stunned the coast.

The post-mortem report indicated that he was killed by strangulation. A case against five people including his friend Akshay Poojary, a resident of Hunsekatte Hosa Thoppalu was registered in the police station.

It is said that Vinay, Akshay and four others were employed in the same welding shop. They used to meet near Varahi river, near Shankernarayana every Tuesday due to power failure on that day.

Akshay had accompanied Vinay from his house on March 28. Vinay’s body was later found in Varahi river.
