Udupi, Jul 31: Bhaskar Shetty, the owner of Hotel Durga International here, has been missing for the past four days. His mother has complained that he has been kidnapped by his wife and son.

In a complaint lodged at Manipal police station on Saturday, Bhaskar Shetty's mother has said that he was assaulted by his wife Rajeshwari and son a month back at Hotel Durga International and she believes that now he has been kidnapped by them.

Police visited the house 'Eshwari' at Indrali. As per family sources, Bhaskar Shetty stayed at the hotel instead of going home after the assault incident. He only went home in the morning for bath and did not interact with wife and son. He went missing from July 28. 

Bhaskar Shetty also has business in Saudi Arabia and often visited there. Rajeshwari looked after the business in Udupi.  They had some business differences which led to his assault, sources said. 

As Bhaskar Shetty's passport was stolen recently, he could not go back to Saudi Arabia.

Manipal police are investigating.
