Mangaluru, Aug 10: ICYM  Bajal in association with ICYM city deanery, on Sunday, August 6, organised 'best buddies' competition for the youth of the deanery, at St Joseph’s English Medium School, Bajal here.

Fr Cyril Pinto parish priest of Bajal, the chief guest, inaugurated the programme.

The competition consisted of 6 different rounds, namely, know your buddy, quiz, marketing, wealth out of waste, shop for your buddy, and food relay. Sr Agnes  Clera and Deril Lasrado judged the rounds.

The programme began with a prayer song, invoking God’s blessings.

Br Macson addressed the gathering. Convenor Joshwita Veigas proposed the vote of thanks. 36 teams from different parishes from the city deanery actively participated in the competition.

Headmistress of St Joseph English Medium School Sr Lenet, ICYM city deanery president Raison, and Bondel secretary Veena, were also  present for the programme.

At the valedictory ceremony, Sr Agnes Clera and  Deril  Lasrado appreciated the participants.  ICYM central council president Elroy  Saldanha and  Jackson Eric praised the unique programme.

Lady vice president Ivy Derebail, immediate past president Jackson, city deanery president Raison, secretary Veena and other office bearers from central council and deanery were present.

Deora  Fernandez and  Teena  Menezes from Derebail won the best buddies round. Sudeep Saldanha and Afney Pereira from Neermarga were the runners up.

Gaywin Lasrado, president of ICYM Bajal, welcomed the gathering.  Pranitha D’Souza, secretary of ICYM Bajal, proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme ended with a group photo and dance session.
