Bengaluru: Home minister asks to cancel proposed 'Unity March' in DK on Sep 12

Bengaluru, Sep 9: Karnataka home minister Ramalinga Reddy on Friday September 8, said that he has requested the organisers to give up ‘Unity March’ scheduled under the leadership of Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai.

“The government does not permit any campaign that disrupts peace. If at all it is held, the event should be held after including people from all sections in the society,” he said.

‘Unity March’ from Farangipet to Mani on September 12 aims at restoring peace and harmony in the district, organisers had claimed.

The request comes after ‘Mangaluru Chalo’ rally was held on September 7 in Mangaluru by BJP Yuva Morcha.

‘Mangaluru Chalo’ rally was a major headache for administration though it ended without any untoward incident. Though permission was granted to hold the rally at Nehru Maidan, protesters gathered at Ambedkar circle and crossed barricades to march towards Nehru Maidan challenging the police. Hundreds of police personnel were deployed in Mangaluru and Dakshina Kannada district to control the situation.

    now state government should stop this march also... when the BJP rally was to disturb the district, even this will disturb the district, we don't need this. Please succeed in stopping this also... or else your colour will be visible to everybody.

    People,

    I have a permanent solution to these marches...let Rai start his march from BC Road and Kalladka Bhat from Kallada....when they meet face to face...let them fight it out...whoever win Kusti will be declared winner...looser should wait 5 more years for second march...

    I am sure Rai is unable to assemble enough people...that's why he is looking for escape route through Rama Linga Reddy to save his own face!!!...

    Now so called 'social organisation' RSS will challenge the Home Minister by taking Patha Sanchalan.
    No one know why the social organisation need weapons parade in public place which is not even granted for retired forces or police.

    If this is not succeed then they will call some fire brand leader who will chant few mantras of hate and go living the district boiling.

    I appreciate the Home Minister for the bold stand.
    Sir, please look into the issues of illegal security business by using threat.

    The Mangalorieans are 95% fine educated peoples why they need all these noth Indian style of propaganda's . Do not permit any of the marches or gatherings of any political parties . Most of the elements trying to break the unity of the Dravidian and input the poison of Aryan Ideological.

    Dakshina kannada (including present Udupi) dist people are peace lovers. But current disturbance was started by Mr. Rai, who is main culprit, now he wanted to set right some how as election is nearby. Better he should conduct all religious leaders meeting and try to make good his position for coming election. Good luck Mr, Rai.

    Unity march is a prestige issue for our honorable Ramanatha Rai.
    It seems Ramlinga Reddy has some scores to settle with Rai. At first, he snatched Home ministry portfolio, which was supposed to be given to Ramanatha Rai. Now when Rai is planning get some mileage by this Unity March, Ramalinga Reddy wants to stop that too.
    We need Unity March even if Home ministry denies permission.
