Bahrain, Feb 12: Bellevision Bahrain stepping into the eighth glorious year, unanimously elected its eight member executive committee for the year 2018 at Papillon Restaurant Banquet Hall recently during their annual general meeting.
Each year symbolizes one more step in the process of individual growth. The association is well known for promoting and identifying talents among members through various entertainment and sports programmes held throughout the year.
To mark the beginning of the New Year, the installation of the 2018 executive committee was held at the Papillon Restaurant Banquet Hall on Thursday February 8. The memorable evening commenced with registration of the members and the registration desk was well managed by Steevan Lobo. A team of volunteers did a wonderful job in decorating the stage.
The welcome address was delivered by Ivan D’Souza and Alfreeda Castelino, followed by the invocation dance by Nikitha, Erina Fernandes and Jennifer D’souza. Joel D’sa then installed the new executive committee of Bellevision Bahrain for the year 2018, who wished them success.
The old Committee was discharged of their duties and the mantle was passed onto the new Committee, comprising of a few experienced stalwarts and a few aspiring youngsters namely:

The executive committee members were referred to as per the colors of the rainbow. As a rainbow is made up of seven different colors — violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red, each one is exquisite and together they form a rainbow that is unequaled in beauty. Likewise, a committee is made up of different types of people. Each person is unique and together becomes part of a colorful group unequaled in strength. The members were referred to by the tints and shades of the basic colors, wherein they were compared to the many talents and skills that individual members bring into an association.
In his presidential speech, the new president extended a warm welcome to the gathering. He thanked the founding members and the outgoing committee for their laudable work.
The outgoing committee was felicitated with a memento.
Rynal D’souza son of Ronald and Lorine, Ashel Castelino, daughter of Arun and Alfreeda and Jason Lobo, son of Steevan and Anitha, who will be leaving Bahrain and returning to India for higher studies were felicitated by Simon and Precilla Machado and Ronald Fernandes, Siddakatte and bid farewell. BV Bahrain wished them good luck and encouraged them to march forward with determination and confidence and thanked them for all their endeavors in various activities from inception of
Bellevision Bahrain.
The vote of thanks was proposed by the general secretary, Marita Aranha who expressed wholehearted gratitude to all the members and sponsors for their constant support.
The much awaited cultural extravaganza, was splendidly hosted by Ivan D’souza and Alfreeda who kept the audience glued to their seats with their punchy and witty dialogues.
Ries and Reeve D’souza conducted a foot tapping and electrifying Bollywood performance. Nikita, Erina and Annora Fernandes, Alisha and Simone Quadros and Reeva Pinto presented scintillating dance performances well applauded by the audience. Their power packed performance was so well synchronized and rhythmic that it stole the hearts of all the spectators. The DJ of the evening, Alwyn excellently managed the sound system and music track presentation. The nostalgic music of the tiger dance (hulivesha), brought hometown memories back and the rhythmic dance was well enjoyed by all.
Celebrants of birthdays and wedding anniversaries for the month of February were celebrated with cutting of the cake.
Variety of games like spot, couple, group, housie added to the evening festivity and fun and the winners walked away with fabulous prizes.
The solemn ceremony then adjourned for a fellowship dinner.
The induction of the new committee will truly add new vigor to the vibrant organization and bolster their efforts in working selflessly. The new leadership will serve the members in pursuit of greater excellence. It was indeed a confluence of vibrant colors, jubilance, creativity and artistic talents of the beloved members. The celebration was the best conclusion to a meritorious and eventful year and a welcome to a fruitful year with outstretched arms.
