Mysuru: Former BJP minister Hartalu Halappa may join Congress, CM cites clean chit

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (SP)

Mysuru, Apr 1: Former minster, Hartalu Halappa, who does not have hopes of getting BJP ticket this time from either Sorab or Sagar constituencies, has begun to knock at the doors of the Congress. Chief minister, Siddaramaiah, has expressed his readiness to speak to the high command and support Halappa's efforts to join Congress party.

When media persons questioned Siddaramaiah about Halappa's alleged interest to join Congress party, Siddaramaiah said that several BJP leaders including Halappa have been in talks with his party leaders. He said he will talk to the party high command on this issue.

The CM also remarked that Halappa has been acquitted by the court in the criminal case he was facing, and therefore he is not tainted.

Halappa, who was a minister in the Yeddyurappa-led BJP government in the state, quit the cabinet after a Kannada daily carried a report alleging sexual misconduct on his part with the wife of his financier-friend in Shivamogga. A rape case was registered, in which he was given a clean chit by the court in August 2017.

Siddaramaah also analyzed that Halappa being a leader of backward classes, his principles and policies match with those of his own party. He said that anybody who has faith in Congress principles is welcome to join his party.

Siddaramaiah is currently busy campaigning in his Chamundeshwari constituency in the city. When he reached Hootagalli here, presidentof his fans association, Deshi Gowda, offered him a garland made of huge apples weighing 750 kg. Once the process of garlanding was completed, workers of the party vied with other to grab the apples and eat them.

In the past, when Halappa was facing a case filed by his own friend, Siddaramaiah used to make special mention of this case in his address to show BJP in poor light. The warmth currently shown by him towards Halappa goes to prove that in politics there is no permanent enemy or friend.

Election time is the best time for rogues and tainted people to join the party likely to win the elections. They can be assured of getting a clean chit and their sins being washed away. The shameless S. M. Krishna joined the BJP and his sins were washed away and now this fellow has sensed that the Congress would win. Hence his decision to join the Congress. They are all stinking and corrupt rogues masquerading as politicians with very high reputation and principles!!!

A saint till he was with BJP, now suddenly ridiculed by the same people who worshiped him, sounds truly funny.

Congress should not entertain such BJP leaders with baggage, unless it is a ploy to defeat the larger designs or manipulation of Amit Shah. Letting Amit Shah win with his designs is more harming to nation than a tainted individual joining a party.

But, till the time he really joins, no one can even believe these stories, as BJP is very very media friendly can plant any stories anywhere, to debate for weeks with no substance at all.

    Gurooo..
He was in KJP not BJP...
Still we consider him is OK as he has cleared the cases against him...

You can take him to congress without any shy, because he has cleared the cases.
But don't be hypocrite in branding people tainted...

Please clarify, which one below is tainted

    FIR against him
    Arrested
    Undergone Judicial custody
    Charge sheet filed
    Convicted

For me, only the convicted one is tainted because it has been proven beyond doubt that one is tainted.

Haaa...What a BLUNDER decision !!! BJP camp is very happy, they wanted Halappa and Renukacharya to be out from BJP as both leaders are under scanner for rape and kissing incidents..Now, Rapist is out and may join Congress soon...Kisser will follow him soon...Siddu is making blunders ..may be overconfident..From one end, Pappu is helping BJP through his divine speech..another side Siddu is helping BJP unknowingly through series of blunders and arrogance...State BJP leaders must thank their stars ....

Jai, have you not read the expert comment ? To defeat the larger design, SMALLER adjustment is ok". That's what I said "Indian Politics ( Inclusive of grand old Congress and Vibrant BJP plus their Voters) is last resort of a scoundrel". However wish to add "Indian voters do vote the Scoundrels"

When tainted can join BJP and get clean chit, why not Halappa? Why can't he join congress? For Halappa he might have thought it's better to work for progressive CM than the jailed one. I am sure bakths have not read below from above news item:
A rape case was registered, in which he was given a clean chit by the court in August 2017.
