Mangaluru, Apr 7: "Ignore the model code of conduct. The code of conduct committee is a committee without any moral," said RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

He made the controversial statement while speaking on the occasion of the sixth day of fast-unto-death undertaken under the leadership of T G Rajaram Bhat demanding the arrest of culprits involved in theft of cows from Amritadhara cow shelter in Punyakotinagara, Kairangala.

Kalladka Bhat further said, "Power hungry people are ruling this state worse than the Moghuls and British. The government is hell-bent on destroying the Hindu religion and culture. This fast unto death is a conflict of ideology. In the past, protests and meetings might have taken place when cows were stolen. But the fast unto death undertaken by Rajaram Bhat should be continued till the end. This is not vote politics but fight for justice, truth and values of life."

When one among the audience asked Bhat in the midst of his speech about the model code of conduct, he reacted by saying, "Just ignore the election model code of conduct. That committee is one without morals." This statement of Bhat has attracted the ire of the election officers.

"Till the dirty politics last, Swamijis will not get respect. Girls and cows will not be protected. We have to uproot the party which is against the Hindu religion," added Bhat.

Defending the controversial statement given by Bhat saying that the temples that are visited by minister U T Khader have to be cleansed by holding 'Brahmakalasha', he said, "What I have said is 100% true. I am ready to accept this in front of any media. It is wrong to call people who eat beef inside the temple and honour them. In order for the vote to be sacred, protection of Hindu religion has to take place."

It is learnt that election officers have taken a serious note of Bhat's statement of mocking the election code of conduct during a political speech and are going to register a case against him.

"There was no need to conduct protest if suitable laws were passed to control the cow looters. It is a very dirty culture to inflict pain and eat the meat of a living being. I will not allow this fight to end without any completion. I will also come and give my support at that phase," said Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swami of Sri Mahachandrapur Math.

He was speaking after conducting 'Gopooja' on the sixth day of the fast unto death undertaken under the leadership of T G Rajaram Bhat demanding the arrest of culprits involved with robbery and theft of cows from Amritadhara cow shelter in Punyakotinagara, Kairangala.

Addressing the gathering he further said, "I got to know about the incident that has taken place here only on April 1. As I have given up reading the newspapers, I did not know about the incident that took place here. I came to know about this on April 1 through a social website. In the beginning, I thought it must be an April fool joke but got to know about the seriousness later,"

"Today there is no place for goodness in society. Injustice has gone beyond the limits. If the people who have looted the cows from Amritadhara cow shelter have shown theft and cruelty, the staff of this cow shelter who have undertaken fast unto death have displayed courage and boldness. It is really proud moment that this protest has entered its sixth day. This protest is a model to the district, state and nation,"

"Rajaram Bhat has not done any drama like politicians who sit inside the airconditioned room and conduct mock fast from morning till afternoon. He has undertaken this fast due to the mental agony that he has undergone due to the cow theft that has taken place. The life of the people who are conducting fast unto death is as precious as the life of the cows. If there is any deterioration in the health of Rajaram Bhat and the 40 people who are accompanying him in the fast, then whole society will raise against the law,"

"Till date Hindu society has not taken the law into their hands in spite of several attacks on the country as well as their religion. All the protests so far are carried out within the framework of the constitution. So if we get justice, the same system will remain. If morally right people (Satvika) take law into their hands, then it is impossible for anyone to live in the society. There might even be an upheaval,"

"There were even attempts to prevent me from visiting this fast unto death. However, I have come here believing that the path of religion is important. The society has to respond to this protest with the aim of completing the motto with which this fight is undertaken. If all unite and participate in this protest, it will be strengthened. The movement has to be completed. All have to strive to strengthen the law in this country."

T G Rajarama Bhat, Sri Shashikanta Mani Swamiji of Kanyana Balekodi Kashikalabhairaveshwara Shilanjan Kshethra, Gopal Kuthar and Sharan Pumpwell, leaders of VHP, Santhosh Rai Boliyar, president of BJP Mangaluru zone, Rajesh Naik Ulepadiguthu, BJP leader, Bantwal, Manju Bhandary alias Thimmappa Konde, administrative trustee of Sri Kananthoor Thodakukkinar Daivasthana, Nandaraj Shetty Pijinabail, Jagadish Alva Kuvethabail, Raviraj Hegde, Radhakrishna Adyanthaya and Rahim Uchil were present.
