Chikkamagaluru: Two students who went to swim drown in river

Chikkamagaluru, Dec 25: In an incident which happened in Kalasa taluk of the district on Thursday December 23, two students who went to Bhadra river to swim, drowned.

The deceased have been identified as Jeevandas (17) from Hirebail village, and Nikshep (17) from Hammakki village. The body of one of the victims was retrieved, while search for the other is on.

Both the teenagers were students of the first year PU class of the government PU college at Kalasa. The students who had left homes on Thursday, did not return home.The parents thereafter had complained to Kalasa police station. The police who went to search found two school bags of these students on the riverbank. The body of Jeevadas was found on Friday afternoon, in a search operation launched with the support of experte divers.
