Mangaluru: Missing 16-year-old boy’s body found in Netravati river

Mangaluru, Feb 28: The body of a 16-year-old school boy studying at the Rosario high school here was found in Netravati river here on Monday February 28.

The boy Drishyanth, studying in the ninth standard, was seen handling commentary for a cricket match at the Mahakali Padpu ground here till about 3.30 pm on Sunday February 27. As the match got over, his friends had gone away after the match but Drishyanth had reportedly not reached home.

Frantic enquiries about him were made with his friends, relatives and other known people but no information was available. A missing person’s complaint was lodged by his mother Asha at Mangaluru south police station who registered an FIR on Sunday.

However, the mortal remains of the boy was found in Netravati river at Hoigebazar, in the evening on Monday. Police personnel are investigating the case.
