Parents
Two lives merge to create a life
One that grows in their tender loving care
A father who looks on, with concern and pride
A mother who nurtures, the child she bears.
A li'l flu throughout the night
sleepless,the parents stay
a little tantrum thrown immaturely outright
at times they give in, and at times,nay!
They look out for you through ups and downs
when they sense you seem happy
when they sense you seem to frown
But not once do they reprimand you for your clumsiness
Oh how you're amazed at their acceptance of your silliness!
They want you to learn life the hard way
Yet, they don't want you to go through the trouble
they are always by your side when you falter
they lift your spirit up when you feel its bound to crumble.
You grow older and rebel,
feeling they are beyond you to get you;
But you fail to recognize their plan
their advice just goes through and through.
Then you begin to earn,you fall in love and marry
your spouse and would be kids;
are your constant interest and worry.
You fail to pay heed to your parents-
who once cared for your trivial affair,
You feel it's a waste of your time
to give them your tender love and care!
Then one day they leave you,never to return
and you miss their warmth you knew not you had
Is there any point in being sorry then,in mourning or in being sad?
Give them then what they deserve, when they are alive and healthy and well
Then only will you be blessed in abundance, and in bliss will your family dwell!
