Between Life and Death
Between life and death
There is a minuscule gap
A gap of a moment
The previous moment you are there
And the next you are gone
It is a matter of breath-
If you are breathing, they call you alive
The second the respiration stops -
You are a thing of the past
Mourners take charge
Until memory fades away
What about the -
Wealth you have amassed
Your struggles to fame
Your sleepless nights
Grievous pain
All gone in vain, within a spur of a moment
Or is it some kind of an achievement?
A completion of a mission
Is there a bigger living to come - that is unknown?
Is there a hidden agenda, beneath the act of life?
Who is the puppeteer behind life’s show?
Each day is a rebirth
There is no guarantee that you will wake up to a new day
Nor there is guarantee that you will survive the day
Hope is the only solace
You have to go on like the tick-tock of a clock
Until your final stop arrives
Thereafter the praises don’t affect
Blames don’t harm
An ignored, could suddenly become a hero
Celebrated all through the life
Now forgotten like a beast
Finally! As you travel to the obscure.
