Covid-19 Blues
The world has lost its mirth,
Disease, distress, despair shroud the earth.
Masks cover human faces
Many have left the world without any traces.
The common cold is no longer common
Know the Chinese and the Roman,
The European and the American,
The African and the Indian.
Coronavirus has made the human body its home,
Desperately surfed by humans on the Google Chrome.
As the world descends into the Covid-19 blues
About the coronavirus, scientists have no clues.
The sword hangs above everyone’s head,
Thousands and thousands are dead.
Nations and continents are under lockdown,
And the devastating economic slowdown.
The coronavirus pandemic has intruded into our lives,
The world full of conceit, hatred, walls and lies.
Empty supermarket shelves, parks, schools, universities
and cities,
Deserted stadiums, cinema halls
and shopping malls—testimony to a deadly and awful silence.
Quarantine and social distancing the need of the hour,
On expressing gratitude to one another, there is no bar.
Lo! Not far is the day,
If I may say,
Smartphones would bridge the gap
Between people living under the same roof,
The world’s shrinking space and room.
As the human race, awaits His grace.
