After presenting previous three fascinating chords, dear DO-RE-ME-FA browsers, I am here again to present my next sweet chord - yet another young, energetic, talented, figure from Konkani music world. He was a church choirboy then and now he is an amazing, world class movie music director who is none other than Shri Alwyn Dominic Fernandes.
Shri Alwyn Dominic Fernandes is a loved and proud son of Konkann soil, he is the 5th child out of 7 children of Shri Leo and (late) Cecilia Fernandes of Mangalore. A commerce graduate and in his mid thirties Shri Alwyn has immense contributions to offer in the coming years to Konkani music world. Shri Alwyn is married to Dr.Rashmi Kiran, the proud daughter of Konkani activist Vishwa Konkani Kala Ratn and mentor of 'Kalangan' Shri Eric Ozario. The couple is blessed with a son by name Eshan. After a struggling career and hard life in music world, Alwyn has risen to the proud status of a Movie Music Director and is actively involved in the Kannada, Telugu and Hindi film industry.
Under Shri Alwyn's leadership as Music Director, Dubai will witness yet another scintillating musical show 'SOBHANN NITE', on Thursday, 17th October 2002 at 7:30 p.m. when 'Vishwa Konkani Kala Ratn' Shri Eric Ozario and his 16 member 'Mandd Sobhann' troupe from Mangalore will perform live at St. Mary's Church Main Hall with all bursting vigour, highlighting the genuine talent available from Konkani music world and definitely this musical show is going to attract Konkani music lovers in big number and will be a historical show.
Once again, let me take this opportunity to thank you for your support and interest you have shown to browse my column, I always remain indebted to you in this regard.
Always yours,
Gerry D'Mello
