From the editor’s desk :-

Dear Do..Re..Me..Fa.. lovers,

Once again a hearty welcome to you all to this ‘Christmas special’ sweet music episode of your favourite Do..Re..Me..Fa.. music column of world’s renowned web portal ‘daijiworld.com’.

As I was watchfully glancing the magnificent Konkan Skies in my regular hunt for a shining star to present to you as a ‘Christmas gift’ through this melodious music column, without much of a struggle I found a super star.  A star who, inspite of having a dynamic personality endowed with great God-given talents, has renounced the worldly pleasures and has offered himself in the service of the Lord and His flock.  The great star, which I’m referring to, is none other than Rev.Fr.Denis Alaxander D’Sa of “Sandesha” fame, also fondly known as Fr.Denis D’Sa.

Down the memory lane, I recall during one of my annual vacations few years’ back, in my beloved parish of Bendur, Mangalore I was fortunate to be a judge for the Parish Singing Competition together with Fr.Denis D’Sa.  It was the first occasion we met personally face-to-face, though later we had met each other during his visit to Oman.  I really admire at the great decision of our Bishop of Mangalore to appoint this highly talented youth among youths Fr.Denis D’Sa as the director of ‘Sandesha’, one of  the great organization to promote Indian art, Culture and religious harmony.  He was the successor to yet another dynamic personality of our diocese Fr.Henry D’Souza.

Although Fr.Denis gave me a tough time in having his profile presented on this music column, from the depth of my heart I sincerely thank Shri Leo D’Souza (Liyab) for assisting me to gather necessary details of  Fr.Denis.

Before playing this sweet musical Chord I take this opportunity to wish everyone of you A Very Merry Christmas.  I pray that everyone of you may experience the birth of Christ our Saviour, in your heart. As we conclude this God-given wonderful year of 2004, I thank God for all His choicest blessings bestowed on us all during the past entire year.  Together with Do..Re..Me..Fa.. family I wish you a Happy, Prosperous, Bright, Healthy and Peaceful New Year – 2005.

See you again in the New Year, same site and same column with new melodious and pleasant musical chords. Until then, bye.

Have a Blessed Christmas!

Gerry D’Mello, Bendur.
