Lancy Menezes (71), husband of Mabel Victoria Menezes, father of Franswa / Christina and Gloria / Ian, grandfather of Jacob Lasrado, brother of Agnes Menezes and Sujatha / Suresh Kumar, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Funeral cortege leaves residence on Thursday, October 15, at 2:15 pm for St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai, Mangalore. Mortal remains will be kept for viewing at the Church portico from 2:30 pm onwards, followed by the funeral Mass at 3:30 pm.

The sudden and untimely demise of our beloved Lancy has left us all deeply shocked and saddened. His unexpected departure reminds us of the words of the Bible that death comes like a thief in the night. His passing conveys a profound message to all of us: **we never know when our time will come, and therefore, we must always be prepared to meet our Lord.** What a lively, cheerful and wonderful person Lancy was! He had a unique gift for mingling with everyone, spreading smiles and winning hearts through his friendly nature, lively dancing and melodious singing. Wherever he went, he brought happiness, enthusiasm and a joyful atmosphere. Lancy was also a distant relative of our family, making his loss all the more personal and painful. He and his beloved wife, Mabel, were a wonderful couple who brought joy and warmth to every gathering they attended. I fondly remember their participation in various couples' singing competitions on the stage of Don Bosco Hall, where they won several prizes. They were actively involved in different associations and organisations, enthusiastically contributing to their activities and delighting everyone with their cultural performances. Lancy had a special gift for making people happy, and his presence was always a source of joy to those around him. Sadly, the man who brought so much happiness into the lives of others has left behind a deep void in the hearts of his beloved wife, Mabel, his children, family members, relatives and countless friends. His sudden departure has left us with precious memories and a sorrow that words can hardly express. At this moment of immense grief, we extend our heartfelt condolences and loving support to Mabel and the entire family. May our loving God comfort them, strengthen them in their sorrow, and grant them the courage to bear this irreparable loss. May His divine love fill the emptiness that Lancy's absence has created in their lives. **Dear Lancy, your laughter, your songs, your dance and your cheerful presence will forever remain etched in our hearts.** Though you have left us so suddenly, the beautiful memories you have created will continue to bring warmth to our lives.
