Engineering student from Kerala slits throat, ends life in Bengaluru College

Bengaluru, Dec 15 (IANS): In a shocking incident, an engineering student from Kerala, studying at a College in Anekal town of Bengaluru committed suicide by slitting his throat. The incident came to light on Thursday.

The deceased is identified as 19-year-old Nitin, a student of AMC Engineering College in Bannerghatta locality of Bengaluru. Nitin hailed from Koyalandi village near Padini Zaria region in Kozhikode district of Kerala, police said.

His parents reside in Dubai and he was admitted to the college by his brother. The police are suspecting the reason for suicide to be lack of attention from parents.

According to police, Nitin had joined the college on December 1 and took up CES course for the first year. Nitin slit his throat with a knife himself in the toilet room of the college.

Bannerghatta police who have taken up investigation stated that Nitin was in depressed mood for being away from his parents. After joining college, he made repeated calls to his parents.

The police have collected statements of his roommate and friends in the college. The students have told police that Nitin was calling his parents and quarrelled with them that they should come down to see him.

Further investigation is underway.

It is very easy for anyone to comment "parents are busy in making money", but the children do not understand the fact how hard it is for any parent to give good education to their children. Most other institutions are responsible for such kind of act as the fees demanded is so high, that it is very impossible to meet the criteria. Every parent wishes for betterment of children by giving them good education. Tax is collected, but where are the returns ? look at western countries. One can get basis education without paying any money, since the tax collected by the parents is been returned back in an form of free education, lowering the burden of parents. Even the fee levels are very less comparatively to india in western countries. Sadly a precious young life is gone away. May his soul rest in peace

Being a parent involves sacrifices. Looks like they are busy making money in Dubai instead of visiting their son.

Mr. Amer instead of saying parents 'busy making money' put it this way, may be parents work in the hospital. Nurses and doctors cant even look at their phone. It is not like in india.....in gulf employees are slaves. In some companies too employees are not supposed to use telephone it is only here even if you hire a housemaid, while cooking she uses phone in one hand. You dont know how others suffer. By the way do get money easily and not by being busy working!!!!!

Clearly lockdown, covid pandemic and restrictions are main reasons for this suicide. Health experts from covid should be arrested and put in jail for 10 years for imposing lockdown

Now please tell me....India had strict lockdown in April 2020 and may 2020..... Then why so many have died due to covid...I am telling that this covid will never end ..Only vaccines and build out immunity will work ..Not lockdown..My mental health got severely impact...Lockdown is even worst than the covid itself..According to you you want people to stay in lockdown forever right..Most of them died due wrong treatment and lack of medicine and vaccination...Not due to covid
