Mangaluru: Surathkal murder - Ban on liquor sale, prohibitory orders relaxed

Mangaluru, Dec 27: Deputy commissioner of Mangaluru, Ravi Kumar M R has withdrawn the prohibition on the sale of liquor imposed earlier in the commissionerate from 10 am on December 25 till 10 am on December 29, following the murder of shopkeeper Jaleel by miscreants.

The deputy commissioner in his order dated December 27, has stated that the ban on sale of liquor is being withdrawn as the situation has come back to normal after the arrests made in connection with the murder.

The DC in another communication stated that the prohibitory orders too are relaxed subject to certain conditions. There are restrictions on people gathering in groups of more than five or more in number in the restricted areas till 6 am on December 29, 2022. Similarly carrying of weapons including sticks, knives, machetes, guns and such other items that cause bodily harm to humans also are banned during the period.
