Mangalore, Jun 16: Following the alleged attack on Rashid Malbari by another jail inmate Sharan and the former's claim that there were weapons in the district jail, DIG (prisons) V S Raju from Bangalore paid a visit to the jail here on Thursday June 16.

After conducting an inspection of the jail, V S Raja said that no weapons were found, but it was true that drugs had entered the jail premises.

He cited scarcity of jail staff as the reason for the slip, and assured that immmediate steps would be taken to recruit more policemen and securitymen.

He also asserted that such incidents will not repeat once the jail is shifted to its new premises.

On Wednesday June 15, Rashid Malbari, a key shooter of the Chhota Shakeel gang, had claimed that Sharan, who is in judicial custody in connection with the murder of K V G Medical College administrator A S Ramakrishna, had attacked him in the jail premises. He had also said that there were weapons in the jail.

I agree with Mr Rahuls comments, Does DiG think public are fools? Its a fact the sanga parivar criminals are calling the shots there, our police is the main reason for all terrorist attacks, when people dont get justice then last resort they take the law in their hands...

It doesn't look like a surprise visit to the Jail by the DGP. He visited the jail with media persons that means every one knows he is visiting the jail and yet expecting the weapons are kept for display.

DRUGS had entered in the jail premises because of our corrupt police officials. And all the credit goes policemen and CHAMCHA'S & CHELA'S of politicians.
Indian Govt and administration have completely failed in every sector and not only Govt is responsible for it, we are also responsible for it because we are silent and not ready to raise the voice against it until something bad happen to us.
