New Delhi, July 9 (IANS) The National Anti Doping Agency conducted a surprise raid at the National Institute of Sports (NIS), Patiala, Saturday.
A four-member NADA team searched the premises and rooms where the sportspersons stay and also collected samples from the athletes.
"We have sent a four-member team to conduct the raid," a top NADA official told IANS.
"The team will be searching the rooms of the athletes. They will also collect samples from the athletes," the official said.
NIS has been in the limelight since eight Indian athletes failed dope tests. Majority of the athletes trained at the SAI centre.
The sports ministry has ordered a probe into the doping fiasco and to investigate any alleged involvement of coaches, support staff and the athletics federation.
