London, Jul 21 (IANS): India's Armaan Ebrahim is determined to get his Formula 2 campaign back on track by scoring some points in the ninth and 10th rounds to be held at the famous Brands Hatch circuit near here this weekend.
With just six points in the kitty after eight rounds, the 22-year old Armaan, sponsored by JK Tyre, Amaron and Trimex, was hoping to deliver a strong result at Brands where the qualifying session is very critical.
"Given the layout of the track, qualifying position is very important. The further up you are on the grid, the better the chances of scoring points as overtaking opportunities are limited.
"Hopefully, my campaign will get back on track at Brands, a circuit I enjoy driving on and where I have raced before," said Armaan.
Reviewing his performance this season, he said: "To be honest, it has been a disappointing run so far, though there were occasions when I had the potential to get among points.
"I had begun well this season with six points at Silverstone in April, but thereafter, nothing has gone my way despite having the pace to be much higher on the grid.
"In the previous two rounds at Nurburgring, I was confident of scoring points after a top-three finish in Friday's free practice, but the exhaust system developed a leak that was discovered only after the first race. By then, it was too late."
There will be two free practice sessions Friday followed by a race apiece Saturday and Sunday, preceded by qualifying rounds.
