Sullia, Jul 16: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a public announcement in the city, in compliance with the court's directive, urging the absconding accused in the Praveen Nettaru case to surrender by August 18.
Previously, the NIA had set a deadline of June 30 and warned that the properties and houses of the accused would be confiscated. However, the accused failed to surrender. As a result, a second warning has been issued, and it is now certain that the confiscation will take place.
The NIA team has already posted copies of the court order on the houses of the absconding accused. The NIA has filed cases against 21 individuals, including Abdul Rehman and Abdul Nasir from Kodagu, Naushad from Beltangady, and five others who are currently on the run. The remaining fugitives are Mustafa Paichar, Aboobacker Siddique, Ummer Farookh, Tufail, and Masood Agnadi.
On June 27, the NIA conducted raids on the houses of PFI activists in connection with the murder of Praveen Nettaru and seized electronic gadgets and other documents.
