Mangaluru, Aug 13: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out a series of raids in 14 locations across the country, with a particular focus on Dakshina Kannada district on Sunday, August 13.
The NIA raids were conducted in areas including Kinya in Ullal, Unachchil Padavu, and Melkar in Panemangaluru. Notably, NIA officials conducted a search at the residence of Ibrahim in Melkar. Ibrahim, a religious teacher based in Kerala, had gone into hiding following the ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI). During the search at Ibrahim's house, NIA officials discovered and seized various documents. However, Ibrahim was not present at his residence during the operation.
Ibrahim's name emerged during the interrogation of individuals previously arrested by the NIA. The agency had earlier exposed the funding network of the banned PFI organization, revealing Ibrahim's connection to the network. Additionally, the NIA uncovered a Hawala network that was contributing to terrorism activities within India. The raids were also carried out in Uchchil Padavu on the outskirts of Mangaluru and Melkar in Bantwala. In addition to these locations, NIA conducted raids today at the residences of Mushtaq in Valachhil and Ibrahim Nandavara in Melkar, Bantwala.
The NIA operation extended across five states within the country. A total of 14 locations were targeted in districts including Kannur, Malappuram, Dakshina Kannada, Nashik, Kolhapur, Murshidabad, and Katihar. These locations span the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Bihar. The raid resulted in the seizure of numerous incriminating digital devices and documents.
