Mangaluru: Former varsity syndicate member seeks re-appointment of sacked guest lecturers

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Sep 7: “The appointment of guest lecturers in Mangalore University is filled with self-interest and irregularities,” alleged former syndicate member S R Harish Acharya.

“It was mentioned during the advertisement for recruitment that the basic qualification, teaching experience with post graduate degree, language skill, net and cassette qualifications will be considered. However such eligibility has been ignored and services of several guest lecturers who are employed in colleges for three to four years with teaching experience have been terminated. The life of such professors has become unstable. The in-charge chancellor has recruited staff without stipulations. The opinion of college principals also has not been taken into consideration. Instead of raising the quality of education, it has been discarded completely,” he alleged.

“The university administration should take action immediately and re-appoint  guest lecturers with the requsite qualifications and experience who were victims of injustice,” urged S R Harish Acharya.
