Puttur, Sep 9: Three teams are formed under the leadership of SP of Dakshina Kannada to trace the culprits who entered the house of Guruprasad Rai, resident of Kudkadi Thotadamoole of Paduvannur village in the taluk on the late night on Wednesday, tied the inmates and looted 15 sovereign gold and Rs 40,000 cash.
Out of the three teams, one team’s investigation is centred on Kerala. A man, who was working as daily wage labourer in the house of Guruprasad had gone to his native place three days ago on leave. The investigation is centred on that man. Police have also kept vigil on the locals as it is confirmed that those who know the surroundings of the house minutely are involved in the robbery.
The way the culprits behaved with the inmates of the house has given rise to many suspicions. The clearly pinpointed the place where the keys of the cupboard at kept. Hence it is clear that people who knew the movements of Guruprasad and various things inside the house, are involved in the act.
MLA Ashok Kumar has instructed police to crack the case as soon as possible. The MLA also asked IGP western range to take the incident seriously as the accused are targeting individual houses.
Former MLAs Shakuntala Shetty, Sanjeeva Matandoor and Arun Kumar Puthila of Puttila Parivar visited the house and instilled confidence in the inmates of the house.
