Beltangady, Sep 10: A series of vehicle accidents continues to plague Charmady Ghat as rain resumed after a brief hiatus.
On Saturday morning, a truck transporting pipes from Kottigehara to Ujire veered off the road and into a roadside ditch, as the driver lost control while negotiating the first bend of Charmady Ghat.
Additionally, a Bolero jeep collided with a damaged ghat barricade wall and overturned. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in this incident.
The previous evening, two accidents had already occurred on the ghat, attributed to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
