Mangaluru, Sep 10: The premiere show of the much-anticipated Konkani film 'Osmitay,' which explores the Konkani identity, took place at Big Cinemas on Sunday, September 10. This marks a significant milestone for Mandd Sobhann, a cultural organization that holds a Guinness record. Mandd Sobhann has made remarkable contributions to Konkani art, literature, and culture across various domains, and their debut production 'Osmitay' promises to be a cinematic treat for audiences.
The premiere show was held simultaneously in Mangaluru, Puttur, and Manipal. Nigel Coloco, a young entrepreneur and philanthropist, inaugurated the premiere show. Meanwhile, all the sponsors, technicians, and lead actors were felicitated.
Set against the backdrop of the Konkani people's quest for identity, this captivating story unfolds the narrative of migration from Goa and showcases the visual splendor of Konkani's rich folk heritage, all woven into a tender love story written by Eric Ozario.
The movie is directed by Vilas Rathnakar Kshatriya and produced by Louis J Pinto under the Mandd Sobhann Productions banner. 'Osmitay' features Ashwin D Costa and Wencita Dias in the lead roles.
The story of 'Osmitay' is penned by Eric Ozario, with Joel Pereira serving as the screenplay writer and co-director. The music is composed by Eric Ozario, Allwyn Fernandes, Cajaten Dias, and Joel Pereira. Joel Pinto is the editor, and Balraj Gowda captures the film's visuals.
Notable actors contributing to 'Osmitay' include Sandeep Malani, Dennis Monteiro, Stany Alvares, Prince Jacob, Sai Panandikar from Goa, Gowrish Vernekar, Lulu Fortes, Eric Ozario, Roy Castelino, Harry Correa, Nellu Permanur, Naveen Lobo, Arun Noronha, Mishal Fernandes, and Flavia.
The movie will be released in Mangaluru, Surathkal, Padubidiri, Manipal, Puttur, Belthangady, Karkala, Udupi, and Honnavar. In the coming days, 'Osmitay' will also be released in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Israel, Germany, Australia, Ireland, and the USA.
