Bengaluru, Sep 11: The public airing of views by senior Congress leader B K Hariprasad, MLC, targeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be viewed seriously by the party, said Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil on Monday.
Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru, Patil, who is also the KPCC Campaign Committee chairman and belongs to the dominant Lingayat community, said the Congress party has taken note of all statements by Hariprasad and will take appropriate action.
“He (Hariprasad) is a senior Congress party leader and has held important posts like AICC General Secretary, Rajya Sabha membership and also as Congress opposition leader in the State Legislative Council,’’ he said taking strong exception to Hariprasad’s comments in the media.
The minister pointed out that Hariprasad is personally known to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge as well as State party in charge Randeep Singh Surjewala and other central leaders.
“He should have expressed his views within the party forums instead of going to the press or speaking publicly against the Chief Minister. This is not a good development from a senior party leader,’’ he said.
Patil claimed that there was no internal squabbling or infighting within the ruling Congress party. All differences will be sorted out soon, he added.
