Kundapur, Sep 12: Sumana, wife of Raghavendra, a resident of Moodlakatte, filed a complaint in the rural police station accusing her younger sister of issuing threat to her life due to the controversy over property and golden ornaments.
Sumana has hotel business in USA and visits Moodlakatte, her native family home, during festivities. She bought a 70 cent land from Koni Vasudeva Hebbar in 2005 for Rs eight lac and registered the same in the name of her younger sister Rohini as the owner of the land was sick. The deal was made on the agreement that the land will be transferred back to complainant Sumana’s name.
A house was built on the same land at a cost of Rs 65 lac. In 2016, complainant Sumana gave four gold bangles and a gold chain weighing nine sovereigns to Rohini to keep the same safely. When Rohini requested Sumana four gold bangles, three sets of ear rings and one finger ring for her daughter to wear, Sumana gave the same on the condition of returning after use. However, when Sumana asked her younger sister Rohini to return the gold ornaments and property to be returned recently, she denied.
It is accused that Rohini and her husband issued life threat against Sumana, when she arrived at her ancestral home at Moodlakatte on Sunday. Rural station police are investigating further.
