Kasargod: 23-yr-old youth hangs self after losing money in online rummy

Kasaragod, Sep 14: A 23-year-old youth hanged himself to a tree near a resort and died on Wednesday, September 13.

The deceased, identified as P K Rosh had reportedly lost heavily after playing rummy online. He was employed in a resort and was found hanging from a tree near the resort where he was employed at the Attukal Waterfalls in Pallivasal, Idukki.

Rosh could not be saved although his colleagues rushed him to a hospital.
It is learnt from his colleagues that Rosh used to play rummy online for a long time in a day and thatt he had wasted a lot of money. His colleagues said that he had even borrowed money to play as he was addicted to the online game.

The deceased had borrowed Rs 80,000 from his friends a few days back and he had told them that he needed the money to treat his sister who was affected by a chronic disease. Apparently, he spent this money on playing online rummy, his colleagues said.

The mortal remains of Rosh was transferred to the Adimali Taluk Hospital for an autopsy after the inquest process was completed.

Rosh is survived by Parackal Reji and Rejina of Vellarikundu, Kasaragod.
