Mangaluru, Feb 3: B A Nasir, the district president of Wakf board, Dakshina Kannada, conducted a press conference in the city regarding the Malali mosque controversy.
Nasir stated, “The Wakf board has intervened in the Malali mosque issue. Henceforth, the entire case will be managed through the Wakf board. The high court has transferred the case to the tribunal court, and the verdict was announced on January 31. According to the high court's decision, the case will be investigated in the district court, specifically by the Third Additional District and Sessions Court. Unfortunately, false propaganda has been circulating on social media.
“The high court has not issued a verdict on the matter. It has directed the district court to conduct the inquiry. Some claim there are temple carvings inside the mosque, but there are no records to support this. The assertion that Malali mosque is not a mosque but a temple is solely based on these carvings. The mention of this masjid dates back to Abbakka’s period and is documented in the book ‘Abbakka Sanakathana,’ Videsh Pravasi Kanda Abbakka Rani,” he explained.
