New Delhi, Sep 28: Chandra Vibhas, a surgeon in the capital has been taken into police custody for murdering his wife Supriya and then dumping her body off a bridge into the river Ganga on Monday September 26.

Supriya's mother demands for justice as she was aware of her daughter being ill-treated by her husband. She said that their marital troubles began soon after she married Vibhas a year ago. Supriya's father said that Vibhas used to make deliberate attempts to prove her mentally retarded and on Monday, Vibhas apologized to her father saying that he had killed her.

Chandra Vibhas was working as a surgeon at Delhi's Deen Dayal Upadhyaya hospital. He reportedly strangulated his wife to death following a fight, then took her body to Allahabad and threw it off a bridge into the river.

A police officer said that Supriya's body was recovered from Handiya. He said, "Looking at it, it was evident that it has been thrown off from the bridge. We got this information from the Delhi Police that the lady may belong to Delhi."
