Kundapur, Mar 28: Vijay, the husband of Asha, acting manager of Siddapura Agricultural Cooperative Society, who tragically took her own life on the afternoon of March 20, has accused acting CEO Mahesh Rao, personnel Manjunatha, and zonal supervisor Udaykumar Shetty of abetting Asha's suicide.
In the complaint filed with Shankaranarayana police, Vijay stated, “Personnel of Siddapura Agricultural Cooperative Bank harassed Asha continuously. A few days before her death, Asha was not speaking with anyone at home. Upon inquiry, she revealed that Mahesh Rao, Manjunatha, and Udaya Kumar Shetty were forcing her to accept the fraud that had taken place in the society. They were pressuring Asha to return the money or else commit suicide.
“On March 20, Asha returned home from the office at 11:30 am. Asha’s mother was also at home. Around 11:50 am, Mahesh, Manjunatha, and Udaya arrived in a car, entered the house, and abused Asha in filthy language. This forced my wife to take her own life,” he stated in the complaint.
It is noteworthy that Sampath Kamath, who was the manager at the same cooperative bank, had taken his own life two years ago. The public is urging a high-level inquiry into the irregularities in the functioning of the said cooperative society.
