Kundapur co-operative society's acting manager ends life amidst fraud suspicions

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (MS)

Kundapur, Mar 21: Asha S (52), acting manager at Siddapura cooperative society, took her own life at her residence, on March 20. Suspected to have been driven by the fear of her fraudulent actions being exposed, Asha died by suicide.

With 28 years of service in various roles within the cooperative society, Asha was well-known and respected. Despite attending work as usual on Wednesday, she abruptly left without notice during an ongoing audit. Tragically, she was found deceased at home, having taken her own life with a nylon saree.

Acting CEO Mahesh Rao revealed that Asha had pledged her gold in her husband's name, and she managed the society's locker. However, discrepancies arose when the pledged gold was not found during the audit, leading to suspicion and inquiry. It is speculated that Asha's sense of guilt and the fear of societal shame prompted her extreme decision.

Search efforts were initiated upon her disappearance from the office, and CCTV footage revealed her journey home on her scooter. Despite the swift response of CEO Mahesh and staff, they arrived too late to prevent the tragedy. Asha's mother's anguished cries alerted locals, who discovered her lifeless body upon breaking into the house.

Asha, survived by her married son in the USA and a daughter pursuing post-graduation, left a heart-wrenching message to her daughter moments before her untimely demise, expressing profound remorse.

According to Asha's mother, her rushed return home and cryptic message about urgent work hinted at her inner turmoil, tragically culminating in her irreversible decision.

Very tragic end....this is how one's own actions pay during one's own life time. Ending one's own life for a mistake is not a good solution but she had the opportunity to solve the issue....????

So sad. May her soul rest in peace. I am sure she is a decent lady but, circumstances led her to do something she should not have done. The burden of revelation led her to take her own life as she could not face a possible arrest. Look at our PM who looted the country in every possible way but was not happy and introduced Electoral bonds. How did amassed it? By sending IT and ED on companies who survived by contributing heavily to buy these corrupt bonds. Even then, this man is not happy and shows his dirty face as a living saint. When, our middle class open their eyes and kick him out? The two contrast of one who lives with conscience and the other who has no conscience at all and we call him our PM!

Baring polticians majority of indians have something called conscience. They know what is right and what is wrong. If at all they do something wrong, its done largely because of bare necessity. This is we who number over 80perc of population. Politicians, weathy and rich in india, is a bit apart. They do mostly wrong, all for more power, more money, more greed and more popularity. The day, we the middle class 80perc, stand with each other rather than ruling politicans, we are going to make a favor to ourselves, for the sake of generations to come.
