Mangaluru: Precautionary measures taken after auto-rickshaw mishap in stormwater drain

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, May 27: Temporary precautionary measures have been implemented at the site where an auto-rickshaw fell into a stormwater drain that overflowed due to heavy rain in the city late Friday night, resulting in the death of the driver.

Sandbags, barricades, and reflector tapes have been installed at the location.

The tahsildar, MCC commissioner, and other concerned officials visited the site and inspected the area.

Officials mentioned that compensation under natural disaster relief has not yet been provided to Deepak's family, and it will be announced after further investigation.

The people responsible for negligence are still roaming free. Unless the people responsible are not arrested no justice is served.

Unless very stringent action, including paying heavyr compensation to the kin, is taken against the officials accountable for this innocent's death, nothing is going to change; few days....and all these crooks will be back to square one....

MCC officials and contractors work to fill their pockets. Forget about compensation; you’ll never get it. Once life is gone, it’s gone. These people won’t give a single penny.”

You forget about compensation, let MCC first build the permanent retain wall. Those sandbags kept will be there next few years till next instance occurred.

Will they ever find a permanent solution? Due to their negligence, lives are lost unnecessarily. Not a single right person/ worker/official will be found in the Mangalore city Municipal Corporation.

First and foremost the persons responsible for this callous negligence should be taken to task for the death of an innocent citizen; why is it that some innocent citizen has to sacrifice his life for these irresponsible chaps to wake up?? Day before in Surat many innocent people including children had a painful death in a game parlor, which had no permission of the fire department; these type of avoidable accidents happen only in third world countries...
