Kundapura, Jun 11: The 'Shakti' guarantee scheme introduced by the state government, which has brought joy to women, school children, and the transportation department, has completed one year on Tuesday, June 11.

Official information from Kundapura KSRTC depot is as follows: The total annual revenue for 2022-23 was Rs 41.54 crore, and after the implementation of the Shakti guarantee, it rose to Rs 60.35 crore in 2023-24. Through the Shakti scheme, there is an increase of Rs 18.82 crore.

In 2022-23, a total of 72.54 lakh passengers travelled, and after the implementation of the guarantee scheme, the number rose to 105.60 lac in 2023-24. Notably, 67.75 lakh female passengers travelled, indicating a significant increase. The number of passengers has risen by 41.70%, reaching 31.09 lac.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, 33 ordinary services were operating between Bantwal-Kundapura. Currently, 38 complete rural services are being operated.

Despite the rise in diesel prices by the Centre in the previous year, the state government has not raised ticket fares, which has pleased the common people.
