Mumbai, Jul 17: With just hours to go for its release, ‘Saiyaara’, the much-anticipated romantic musical directed by Mohit Suri, is generating strong pre-release momentum across the country. Starring debutant Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film has already sold over 90,000 tickets across top national multiplex chains as of 11 PM Wednesday.
According to early trade estimates, the film is likely to cross 1.75 lakh tickets in advance sales by Thursday night. This places ‘Saiyaara’ on track for a potential Rs 15–Rs 20 crore opening, despite its limited release on 1,750 screens—a relatively modest rollout compared to the 3,500+ screens typical for Rs 20 crore openers.
Industry insiders say the makers are taking a strategic approach by focusing on full-house shows rather than chasing high screen counts. With its youth appeal and musical charm, the film is already gaining traction among urban audiences and college-goers.
To attract early footfall, a limited-time discount offer on day-one tickets has been rolled out. Trade experts believe this could boost collections by another Rs 1–2 crore, although such offers don’t always guarantee blockbuster openings. Another film, ‘Tanvi: The Great’, releasing the same day, is also offering discounts but is expected to lag far behind in day-one collections.
‘Saiyaara’ marks Ahaan Panday’s silver screen debut under the banner of Yash Raj Films, with acclaimed filmmaker Mohit Suri at the helm. The trailer, which has garnered over 10 million views within days of its launch, showcases Ahaan as Krish Kapoor, a passionate and edgy young singer. Actress Aneet Padda plays a shy and talented lyricist who forms a soulful bond with Krish during a collaborative album project.
The film is all set to hit theatres nationwide on July 18, 2025. If the current momentum holds, ‘Saiyaara’ could prove to be one of the strongest debuts of the year, both for Ahaan Panday and Mohit Suri’s new musical journey with YRF.
