Bahrain: Ladies Throwball Tournament 2024 takes off at KSC

Bahrain, Jun 14: The terrace floor of Karnataka Social Club (KSC) saw another eventful Friday dedicated to the ladies of the club with a 'Ladies Throwball Tournament' event organised by the KSC Sports Hub. Quite an audience gathering to cheer the ladies in action with their usual euphoria that echoed amid the hot and humid weather around. It was fun nonetheless.

The tournament kicked-off on June 7, with 36 ladies forming 6 teams in competition in two Pools, A and B to play the league matches at the Karnataka Social Club premises, brightly lit terrace floor. It was an awesome arena for the throwball to make waves mid-air from one end to the other as the enthusiastic teams displayed their elegance in throwing hard and dropping placings in a spirited competition of the tournament.

All went well with the usual mayhem of the tournament where audience and teams mingled with much fun and laughter. The semifinalists were Teams Bahrain Warriors, Bahrain Super Queens, Bahrain Daredevils and Bahrain Titans. In an exciting finals game, Team Bahrain Daredevils were victorious over Bahrain Titans.

The winning Bahrain Warriors Team was led by captain Preema and her team members were Jennifer, Sandra, Anitha, Daphney and Cynthia.

The Runners-up Bahrain Titan, led by Captain Shalet and her team members were Janet, Joylin and Prathima.

The best player of the match declared was Jennifer D’Souza.

Prizes were generously donated by Jeevan D’Mello.

Anand Lobo who anchored the event and rolled the tournament with the 'Sports Hub' team, kept all the spectators and players on their toes with his vivid humorous commentary encouraging the players and motivating the audience to applause in appreciation. Clive Britto was the chief co-ordinator who saw to it that every bit of the game went on as planned and in place. He was assisted by Thomas and Arun. Vinay, Alwyn, Reema, Deepika and Lavina did their bit in good support of the tournament and encouraging the players for a spirited game.

The sponsors were announced and appreciated with applause for their contribution towards the tournament.Trophies and attractive gifts were given away to the winners and runners-up teams.

The tournament concluded with dinner being served and yet another tournament successfully concluded.

Karnataka Social Club is now geared up for many more tournaments and competitions to be rolled out in the coming months mainly for members and their families not to mention other cultural and festival programmes.
