Beltangady: School Cabinet election held at Holy Redeemer English Medium School

Beltangady, Jun 16: The election for the School Cabinet was conducted in Holy Redeemer School on June 15 in the school auditorium.

The vibe of cabinet election was for three days. On day 1, nominations were filed by the candidates with the headmaster. On day 2, candidates made open campaign during school assembly. On day 3, voting took place for 8 different posts of School Cabinet.

On the day of election, the candidates and the voters were welcomed to the polling booth.

Preetha D'Souza explained the young voters the significance of the election and instructed them about the rules and protocols to be followed during the election.

Candidates were given a chance to campaign before voting.

Students from class 5 to class 10 were the eligible voters. To give the students the experience of voting and understand the process of election, necessary protocols were followed.

The elections were conducted using Electronic Voting Machine app. Headmaster played the role of Election Commissioner, staff played the role of polling officers and Scouts volunteer students played the role of Booth Security Officers.

Students were asked to show their school ID card for identification and left hand fore fingers were inked. After completing the voting, votes were counted by polling officers and results were declared by the headmaster.

He later wished the newly elected cabinet members and advised them to be good leaders and work responsibly, and also appreciated the participation of other candidates.

School cabinet members were rightfully elected and elections came to an end successfully.
