‘The Journey of Belli’ Kannada movie releases all over Karnataka

Mangaluru, Sep 14: The much-anticipated children’s film ‘The Journey of Belli’, produced under the Phoenix Films banner by Mahendra Kumar and directed by Gauri Srinivas, was released on Friday at Big Cinemas in Bharat Mall here.

The event saw the presence of several notable dignitaries, including Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader, Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath, mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur, and former mayor Shashidhar Hegde. Also in attendance were BJP spokesperson for Dakshina Kannada district, Raj Gopal Rai, Kabaddi Association president Amar Nath Rai, Ismail Moodushedde, Naveen Bondel, Sachin Rai, Dhanush Rai, and Bharat Cinemas Director Balakrishna Shetty, among others.

This is the second film produced by Mahendra Kumar, following the success of his historical Tulu movie ‘Karnikada Kallurti’.

‘The Journey of Belli’ tells the poignant story of a 9-year-old girl named Belli, who eagerly waits for her father, a soldier serving in the Indian Army in a border region, to return home. As time passes, the events in her life cause her once innocent nature to transform into anger and resentment. The absence of her father leads to several struggles and conflicts in her life. Even when her father finally returns home, Belli, consumed by anger and neglect, distances herself from him. However, a twist in the story and unexpected circumstances later ignite a new dream in her life.

The film has garnered international acclaim, winning prestigious awards such as Best Producer, Best Director, Best Children's Film, and Jury Awards at festivals including Mokho, Crown Wood, Indo-French, Trilok, Birsamunda, and Roshni International Film Festivals.
