Bahrain: Konkan Singers Club Celebrates 34th Annual Day

Bahrain, Dec 14: Konkan Singers Club, one of the prestigious clubs in Bahrain, celebrated the feast of their patron St Cecilia and 34th Annual Day on Friday  December 9 along with Christmas tree party at the Baan Saeng Thai Restaurant auditorium, Adliya.

The chief guest of the day Richard Moras convenor of the Konkani Kutam Bahrain. Compere for the event was the Entertainment Secretary Rico Braganza and his Assistant Leo Fernandes.

The celebration was initiated with a prayer dance by Rensilla Fernandes and Jovita D’Silva. Soon the dance floor was thrown open for the opening dance session, which was accepted by the members and families who danced gracefully to the tune of DJ Philip.

The highlight of the event was the Xmas tree party for members children. Santa Claus gave away sweets and entertained the children and special gifts were given to 5 early bird members.

President Charles D’mello welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to the members who attended the show and thanked the sponsors, co-sponsors. He thanked the members for their continued support and active participation in the club’s activities.

Later members witnessed dances performed by members’ children: Rensilla, Lavita, Jovita, Evita, Leon, Lira Pereira, Eunice D’Souza and by our Asst Sports Secretary the young Peter D’costa.

A sumptuous lunch buffet and beverages was served to all invitees. The last dance session had the whole gathering on the dance floor.

On the whole the function was an event to be remembered and the audience enjoyed every bit of it until the conclusion.
