Dr Raghavendra M Shetty K of Canara Engineering College earns PhD for Deep Learning research

Mangaluru, Dec 1: Dr Raghavendra M Shetty K, head of the department of electronics and communication engineering at Canara Engineering College, Benjanapadavu, Mangaluru, has been awarded a PhD by REVA University for his thesis titled “Image Sketch to Image Face Generation Using Deep Learning.” This work highlights his pioneering research in the fields of artificial intelligence and deep learning.

With over two decades of academic teaching experience and eight years in the industry, Dr Shetty has made significant contributions to education and research.

Before joining Canara Engineering College, he served as the head of the department of electronics and communication engineering at Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapur, and AJ Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. In these roles, he played a key part in academic and institutional development.

His doctoral research was guided by Dr S N Prasad, senior professor at Manipal Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. His work on deep learning represents a substantial contribution to the academic and research community.

Hailing from Kirimanjeshwara in Byndoor taluk, Dr Shetty has dedicated this milestone achievement to his parents as a heartfelt tribute to their unwavering support and encouragement throughout his journey.
